Trapped: Escape Fort Nisqually is back! Learn more about this escape room game
Travel back in time to eavesdrop on the affairs of the Puget Sound in 1857. More than one hundred historical interpreters bring to life the men, women, and children of the Hudson’s Bay Company. Be entertained by songs, dances, and games. During the tours, these people from the past will not be aware of their 21st century visitors.
Please arrive at Point Defiance Park about 15 minutes before your tour time, entering through the Pearl Street entrance. You will be directed to park in the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium parking lot. You will then check in with our customer service staff at the top of the zoo parking lot. When it is your tour time, you will board our state-of-the art time machines, where you will then be transported back in time on a shuttle ride up to the fort. Along the way, our Fort Nisqually experts will provide some of the background history of 1855 as well as recommend certain things to listen for. Upon arriving in 1855, you will begin your candlelit walk, peering into the lives of the residents of Fort Nisqually.
The walking tour lasts about an hour, rain or shine, so please plan and dress accordingly. Parts of the Candlelight Tour will take place on uneven ground, and visibility will decrease as the night progresses. If you require special ADA accommodations, you may fill out a request form from our website here.
Youth tickets cover ages 4-17. All children under 4 are free, but must be able to ride in a parent's lap on the transit ride to and from the fort. Carriages and strollers will not be allowed on the walking tour.
